Shirley Turnage Luke, 64, a resident of Morton passed away Sunday, November 06, 2011 at Jaquith Nursing Home, Whitfield, MS. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services on Monday, November 07, 2011 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 from 9:30 until 10:45 am. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 08, 2011 in the chapel of Wolf Funeral Services at 11:00 am with burial following in Morton Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Claude Shufelt. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS and she was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church, Brandon, MS. She was very outgoing and loved to cookand be with her family. She retired as a Nurses Assistant with Choctaw Residential Center in Choctaw, MS and as a sitter with the elderly.
She was preceded in death by parents, Allen and Rita Holmes; one sister, Mary Canoy.
She is survived by one daughter, Monica Pruitt and husband Steven of Star, MS; one son, Mark Turnage of Morton, MS; two sisters, Jean Hornback of Polkville, MS and Irma Thaggard of Morton, MS; one brother, Jack Holmes of Morton, MS; four grandchildren, Ashley Turnage, Angel Hines, Dustin Pruitt, Makayla Pruitt; two great-grandchildren, Sheyenne May and Mark May, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Chris Harrell, Charlie Harrell, Raymond Harrell, Paul Hornback, James Boleware, and Buster Boleware. Honorary pallbearers are Dustin Pruitt, Mark May, and Steven Pruitt.
