Mr. Dewey L. “Butch” Martin, Jr., 69, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at his daughter’s residence. Visitation will be held at Clear View Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 12:00 noon until service time on Tuesday at the church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Clear View Baptist Church at 11:00 am with burial following in the Clear View Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Ainsworth, Rev. Don Harrison and Rev. Mike Thornton. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Martin had lived in Brandon, MS for the past two years, moving from Braxton, MS and was a member of the Clear View Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby Powell of Oakland, MS; two daughters, Sherry Pruitt of Odessa, TX and Debbie Ainsworth of Braxton, MS; one son, Thomas J. Martin of Brandon, MS; two brothers, Leroy Martin of Mendenhall, MS and Mike Moorman of Oakland, MS; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Ainsworth, Tommy Dansby, Don Harrison, Larry Ainsworth, David Sharp and Jeff Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Moorman and Charles Ainsworth.
