Mrs. Jimmie Lynn Garrett Massey age 86 a resident of Pelahatchie, MS passed away on Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 30, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 12:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 30, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Holly Bush Methodist Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Officiating is Rev. Gary Knight and Rev. Percy Campbell. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Massey was a lifelong resident of the Holly Bush Community in Rankin County. She was a member of the Holly Bush United Methodist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. She loved to watch sports and was an avid Ole Miss Rebel and New York Giants fan.
Mrs. Massy is preceded in death by her husband, Clark Massey in 1999; one daughter, Gwen Massey Gregory in 1988. She is survived by one brother, F.J. “Sonny” Garrett and wife Mattie of Pelahatchie, MS.; special nephew, Steve Garrett and wife Leann of Pelahatchie, MS.; son-in-law, E.J. “Jack” Gregory Jr. of Okolona, MS.; one grandchild, E.J. Gregory III and wife Charla of Oxford ,MS.; and a host of great nephews and great nieces.
Pallbearers are Ryan Garrett, Ty Garrett, Bo Garrett, Sidney McLaurin, Clark Denton, John Massey. Honorary pallbearers are James Harrell, John Randall Myers, Bobby Warren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her longtime physician and friend, Dr. Howard Clark and the staff of Scott Regional Hospital for their great care of Mrs. Massey.
