Mrs. Emma Lee May, age 97, passed on Tuesday, September 19, 2022 at J. G. Alexander Nursing Home in Newton County, MS. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 2:00 PM until 2:50 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newton, MS. Graveside services will take place at 3:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery in Newton, MS. Rev. Steve Pouncey will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Emma was born to Carl Lee Ledlow and Cynthia Gressett Ledlow on July 8, 1925, in Decatur, MS. She loved her family, and her church families at Ebenezer and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching bluebirds and hummingbirds and was an avid gardener, who took pride in her flowers and beautiful yard.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Edwin “Buddy” May; parents, Carl Lee and Cynthia Gressett Ledlow; son-in-law, Jerry Williams. She is survived by her three daughters, Sue Dramer (Larry) of Pearl, MS, Cindy Williams of Newton, MS and Sheila Dixon (Buddy) of Bay Springs, MS; Grandchildren include; Joel Dramer, Lisa Dramer, Karen Williams (James), Dusty Green (Leah), Trey Heard (Olivia), and Sarah Rogers (Hunter); great grandchildren; Wesley Williams, Carlee Bess Williams, Thomas Green, Mary Helen Green, William Green, Ava Heard, River Rogers and Raylee Jane Rogers and sister-in-law Charlotte May.
Pallbearers will be Joel Dramer, James Williams, Dusty Green, Trey Heard, Hunter Rogers and Wesley Williams.
