Opal Jean Mccoy

Opal Jean McCoy age 76, passed away Monday September 2, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held at New Liberty Baptist Church in Branch, MS on Friday September 6, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:50 AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM at New Liberty Baptist Church on Friday September 6, 2019 with burial following at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Paul Smith will officiate.

Opal Jean McCoy was a lifelong resident of Branch, MS. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She loved to garden, plant flowers and be outdoors. She was a good basketball player in her younger years, loved to sing, loved keeping up with her grandchildren and was really attached to her dog Maisy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Bates and Sadie Lee Gould and her brother Jimmy Dale Bates. She is survived by her children; Regina ( Scott) Young of Branch, MS, Renea ( Paul) Callens of Tupelo, MS; brother, Billy H. Bates(Bobbi Jean) of Branch, MS and Jerry L. Bates of Forkville, MS; four grandchildren, Alaina Callens, Lianna Callens, Olivia Callens and Neal Callens; and her friend and companion Dwight Sisk.
