Mr. Jason A. Moncrief, age 91, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Graveside Services with Military Honors were held at 11:30 AM on Thursday March 08, 2018 in the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS with burial following. Bro. Leon Stewart officiated the services. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Moncrief had lived in the Pineville Community for the past eighteen years where he was a member of the Leaf River Baptist Church. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean Conflict, Vietnam Era and the Cuban Uprising. He was a Master Parachute Jumper in the U.S. Army until he retired in 1967.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Lee Moncrief; three children; one brother; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mae Belle Moncrief of Pineville, MS; twelve children; three step-children; two brothers, Bingham Moncrief of Forest, MS and Charles Moncrief of Pulaski, MS; three sisters, Linda of Raleigh, MS, Belle of LA, and Sadie Mae of LA; twenty-three grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Members of the United States Army served as Pallbearers.
