Gerald Russell Monk
Gerald Russell Monk, 55, a resident of Lake, MS passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his residence. A visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS on Saturday, June 01, 2013 from 11:00 am until 2:30 pm and a graveside service and burial will be at 3:00 pm in Pine Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Lawrence, MS. Officiating will be Billy Nichols. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Monk had lived in Lake, MS since 1994 formerly living in the Jackson and Madison areas and he was a member of Lake Christian Church of Lake, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, grilling out, golfing and the MSU Bulldogs. Before his disability he worked as a store manager for Bradley’s Discount, Kroger and Jitney Jungle and then became a sales representative for the food industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Simmons Monk; sister, Lynn Monk Coady. He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Gweneth Monk of Lake, MS; two daughters, Jessica Monk Lewis and husband Kevin of Mendenhall, MS; Roberta Rivers Monk of Lake, MS; two sisters, Rebecca Owens and husband David of Lake, MS; Ann Foreman and husband David of Homewood, MS; grandchild, Delilah Lynn Williams; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Alton Gibbs, Chuck Parks, Matt Purvis, Matthew Owens, Colby Jolley and Zachary Foreman. Honorary pallbearer will be Allen Dansby.
