John Lamar Moore was born March 17, 1941 to Mr. Walter Moore and Edith Moore. He graduated from Newton County School District. John also served in the Army 101st Airborne. He also fought in the Vietnam War, where he was a sharp shooter and he also received a metal.
John is preceded in death by his father, Walter Moore and his mother Edith Moore, his brother George Moore (Virginia Moore). John confessed Christ at an early age. He married Evelyn Holloway (Moore). John showed an enviable devotion to his family and friends with his uplifting and joyful spirit endeared him to many who met him and knew him.
On June 10, 2022, John Made his transition from his earthly home to his heavenly home at the Veteran’s home in Kosciusko, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 3:30 PM until 7:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS, and Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Greater Holy Hill Church in Morton, MS., with the services beginning at 2:00 PM. The Committal will follow at Greater Holy Hill Cemetery in Morton MS.
John leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Evelyn Moore of Morton, MS; two daughters, Candies Holloway of Pearl, MS, Hallie Moore of Morton, MS: two grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends who loved him and will truly miss him.
