Mr. Louie Parkman, Sr. age 83, passed away Monday May 4, 2020 at his residence in Pulaski, MS. A visitation will be held on Thursday May 7, 2020 at New Goodhope Baptist Church under the portico from 9:30AM until 10:00AM with a graveside service to follow at New Goodhope Baptist Cemetery. Brother Paul Smith and Brother David Goree will officiate.
Mr. Parkman was born and raised in Pulaski, MS. He was a member of New Goodhope Baptist Church in Pulaski, MS, where he served as Deacon. Mr. Parkman began his career as a Park Manager with the PRVWSD in 1973 at Coal Bluff Park and then at Timberlake Park in Jackson, MS in 1980 where he retired in 1994. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and he was a devoted Ole Miss fan. He was also a lifelong honorary member of the Caney Creek Hunting Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Lamar and Betty Lee Parkman; step-father; A.B. Black; grandson, Chance Tadlock. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Parkman of Pulaski, MS; two daughters, Anita Simmons of Salt Lake City, UT, Cheri Tadlock of Brandon, MS; sons, Louie Parkman Jr. of Brandon, MS, Brian Lamar Parkman of Lake, MS, Phillip Parkman of Morton, MS; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Cameron Tadlock, Joshua Parkman, Caleb Parkman, Mitchell Parkman, Peyton Parkman and John Simmons.
