Patricia Ann Smith, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Patricia was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Patricia graduated from Crossroads in 1958, where she was the bookkeeper for the basketball team. Patricia worked for the state of Mississippi, where she retired after many years of service. After retirement, Patricia enjoyed painting, reading, traveling, cross-stitching, collecting angel figurines, and watching her favorite television shows and sports. Patricia's favorite hobby was spoiling her grandchildren, cooking her famous spaghetti for them, and letting them spend countless nights at her house. Making memories with her family was something she cherished. She also faithfully taught the youth Sunday school at Eastside Baptist Church for many years, as well as leading children's church. Patricia was a Godly mentor to many youth in the community.
Survivors include her two children Jeffrey (Christi) Of Pelahatchie, and Regina Ferguson of Pelahatchie. Patricia's favorite title was Mawmaw Pat where she took pride in her five grandchildren: Cody Smith (Kristen), Dane Ferguson, Austin Smith (Annalea), Bailey Smith (Carr), McKenzie Ferguson (CJ); five great-grandchildren, Avery Lum, Paisley and Cade Smith, Lela Smith, Lake Jones: One sister, Marsha Chambers (Randy) of Lena; three nephews, Will, Charley, and Ellis; four nieces, Tambra, Tanya, Pam, and Vicky; and her great niece Abby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. W. E. Bass and Willie B. Bass; her husband of 45 years, Sidney Aaron Smith; and her brother David Bass.
A celebration of life will be held at Rehobeth Baptist Church with a private graveside to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that Bibles be donated in memory of Patricia Smith.
Patricia's favorite passage in scripture was Psalms 30:5.
