Mrs. Mable Jean (Myers) Peavy age 83, a resident of Pelahatchie, MS passed away on Monday March 23, 2015 at St. Dominic- Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2015 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday March 26, 2015 from 12 Noon until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Officiating will be Bro. James “Jep” Peavy II and Dixie Vance will deliver the Eulogy. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Peavy was a lifelong resident of the Pelahatchie Community. She was a member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. Mrs. Peavy was very active as a founding family of East Rankin Academy in Pelahatchie, MS. The family would like to thank Ruthie Wilcher and Carolyn Anderson “Tootsie” and Mississippi Home Care for their care and love of Mrs. Peavy.
Mrs. Peavy was preceded in death her husband, James Peavy in 1986; two daughters, Terri Edwards in 1985 and Carolyn Meadows in 2005 and her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her son, James “Doc” Peavy and wife Phyllis of Pelahatchie, MS; two grandchildren, Samatha Wolf of Forest, MS, and James “Jep” Peavy II of Cleveland, MS; one great grandchild, Hunter Wolf of Forest, MS.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Wolf, John R. Myers, Steve Garrett, Joe Bynum, Bobby Warren and Richie Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack “Tip” Myers, Jack Rhodes, Charles Vance and Thomas Jenkins.
