Hamilton Pierce, 87, a resident of Morton, MS passed away Sunday, October 06, 2013 at his residence. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Monday, October 07, 2013 from 6:30 until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, October 08, 2013 from 8:30 am until 1:15 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday at Springfield Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with burial following in the Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Marty Wilson, Rev. Ron Mercer and Dr. Keith Gordon. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pierce was a native of Newton, MS and had lived in Morton, MS since 1992, moving from Pearl, MS. He was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church in Morton, MS. He loved his garden and gardening. He was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class at Springfield Baptist Church. He was an avid Domino Player at the Springfield Senior Adult monthly meetings and loved to tell stories and was an Ole Miss Rebel Fan.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Pierce, Morton, MS; two sons, John Mark Pierce of Knoxville, TN; and Ronald Henry Pierce of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Elza Sumrall of Southhaven, MS; Lula Stone of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren, Ben Pierce, Madelyn Pierce, Thomas Pierce; a number of nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gene Gray, Richard Lingle, Truman Manning, Mike Manning, Buford Palmer, and Glen Mahaffey.
