Alan Pitts age 66 a resident of Forest, MS. passed away on Friday March 21, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be held on Sunday March 23, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 10:50 AM at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Long Beach, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Riemann Family Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Evergreen Pine Ridge Cemetery in Gulfport, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Larue Stevens. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Pitts had lived in Forest, MS. since 1987 and was a former resident of Long Beach, MS. He attended the Forest Baptist Church in Forest, MS. He was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide Fan and was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish, and play golf. He was a member of the Rocking Chair Hunting Club. He had retired from Centerpoint Energy after 41 years of services. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Pitts is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Pitts, one brother, Steven Pitts, one sister, Carol Pitts. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Pitts of Forest, MS.; mother, Virginia Pitts of Long Beach, MS.; two sons, Jeff Pitts and wife Fran of Forest, MS.; Chris Pitts of Forest, MS.; four grandchildren, Nikki, Avery, Devan, Brayden, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers are Joe Rigby, Tommy Moore, Alan Tullos, Wayne Sorey, Norman Luker, Tommy Allen, Alan Young. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Rocking Chair Hunting Club.
