Mr. Gordon L. Pope, 77, a resident of Forest, MS passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 at his residence. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services, Morton, MS on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm and on Sunday July 21, 2013 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Cash Baptist Church with burial following in the Cash Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. M.L. Wallace and Eulogy will be by George Jordan. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Pope had been a lifelong resident of Cash, MS and he was a member of Cash Baptist Church. He was a Deacon at Cash Baptist Church and loved his dogs and fox hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Carrie Pope. He is survived by his wife, Clara Pope of Cash, MS; one daughter, Tammy White and husband Brian of Columbus, MS; two sons, Barry Pope and wife Donna of Carthage, MS; Edwin Pope and wife Linda of Cash, MS; one sister, Pearline Hegwood of Byram, MS; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Michael Weaver, Kody White, Rod Sanders, Danny Weaver, Josh Slay, and Richard Pope.
