Inez Purvis, 91, a resident of Pelahatchie, MS passed away Thursday, February 07, 2013 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton, MS. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Friday, February 08, 2013 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, February 09, 2013 from 9:00 until 10:45 am. Funeral services will be in the chapel on Saturday, February 09, 2013 at 11:00 am with burial following in the Bishop Walker Cemetery in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Lynette Little and Rev. Howard Herring. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Purvis had lived in Pelahatchie, MS for the past seventy years and she was a member of Pelahatchie United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet, sew and embroidery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Purvis; on son, Eugene Purvis; grandsons, Michael Eugene Purvis, and Jeffrey Purvis.
She is survived by one daughter, Joann Phillips and her husband David of Polkville, MS; three sons, Wilson Purvis of Pelahatchie, MS; David Purvis and his wife Beth of Pearl, MS; Jerry Purvis and his wife Ellen of Brandon, MS; one sister, Carlene Cook of Pelahatchie, MS; seven grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family of Mrs. Purvis would like to extend a “special thanks” to all the staff at Mississippi Care Center of Morton, MS for taking such good care of their mother.
