Johnnie Mae Hodges Ragsdale, age 92, passed away on Friday March 4, 2016 at her residence. Visitation was held on Monday March 7, 2016 from 11:30AM until 12:45PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services were held on Monday March 7, 2016 at 1:00PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Burial followed in the Harperville Memorial Park in Forest, MS. Officiating was Rev. Ted Hawkins and Rev. Arthur Kennedy. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Ragsdale had lived in Forest, MS for the past twenty years where she moved from Escambia Farms in Baker, FL. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Lillian, MS. Johnnie will be remembered for her flower gardening, driving her golf cart around the neighborhood, and her quick wittiness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Ragsdale; parents, John and Effie Hodges; one sister, Bonnie Jean Mitchell; brothers, James Lamar “Jim” Hodges, Malcolm Neal “Mac” Hodges, Kenneth Edward “Bill” Hodges, Sammie Joe Hodges, and Marion Cecil Hodges. She is survived by one brother, Robert E. “Bob” Hodges (Dianne) of Forest, MS; special family, The Pruitt’s of Vicksburg, MS; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers were James Hodges, Russell Hodges, Jay Pruitt, Josh Pruitt, Neil Hodges, and Eddie Hodges. Honorary Pallbearers were Bill Freeman, O.B. Triplett, Matt Alford, Jimmy and Linda Gibbs, and Steve Stevens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
