Mr. John J. Risher age 74, a resident of Pulaski passed away on Friday August 15, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 16, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and again on Sunday August 17, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 2:20 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday August 17, 2014 at 2:30 PM at Wolf Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Earl Clark. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Risher was a lifelong resident of Pulaski, MS. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church. Mr. Risher was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He retired from the MS. Department of Wildlife in 2003 after over 25 years of service. He had served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Risher is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Evelyn Risher and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Linda Risher of Pulaski, MS.; two daughters, Julie Risher Sanford of Jackson MS., Leslie Risher of Forkville, MS.; two brothers, Larry Risher of Harperville, MS., Henry Risher of Pulaski, MS.; five sisters, Ruth Weems of Harperville, MS., Ann Johnson of Homewood, MS., Gaynell Countryman of Harperville, MS., Cheryl Marler of Pulaski, MS., Pam Pope of Collinsville, MS.; three grandchildren, Colt Sanford of Pulaski, MS., Gage Risher of Pulaski, MS., Abby Grace Chambers of Forkville, MS.; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Quentin Bang, J.L. Risher, Michael Risher, Brian Morehead, John Paul Lucroy and Joey Tagert.
