Mrs. Janelle Furr Rushing passed away on Friday December 22, 2017, approximately 11:20PM at the age of 104, at the Mississippi Care Center of Morton, MS. Visitation was held on Tuesday December 26, 2017 from 12:30PM until 2:20PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday December 26, 2017 at 2:30PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS with Rev. Marty Wilson officiating. Burial followed in the Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rushing was the daughter of James M. Furr and Maude Middleton Furr. She was born in Magnolia, MS on December 13, 1913. She had lived in the Springfield Community for many years and was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Rushing; and her daughter, Dena Sue Rushing Dickson; four siblings, Grace Furr Mejia, James N. Furr, Linda Furr Blackmon, and Charles Ray Furr. She is survived by her son, Dan Rushing (Pat) of Morton, MS; son-in-law, Bill Dickson of Morton, MS; sister-in-law, Dot Furr of Canton, MS; three granddaughters, Debi Rushing Holt, Dawn Dickson Mitchell, Danette Dickson Smith (Mike); five great-grandchildren, Brianna Holt, Jared Holt, Ashlynn Mitchell, Zack Smith, and Kaitlee Smith; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Cooper, Cooper Beard, Bill Beard, Danny Wade, Kendall Winstead, and Leland Burchfield. Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Terry Crotwell.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Ms. Elsie Thompson and all of the nurses and friends of Ms. Janelle at the Mississippi Care Center of Morton.
