Rusty Lane Rogers, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at his residence in Forkville, MS, from lung cancer. His memorial visitation will be on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. His services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. His burial will follow at Sims Hill Cemetery in Morton, MS.
Rusty was born to Sam Rogers and Johnnie Woods Rogers on July 25, 1954, in Morton, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS. Among his many talents, he was an inventor, and the founder of CackleBee Farms, LLC. He envisioned, created, and patented The Twister Fence Tool® and The Bantam Fence Tool® to help cattle and hay farmers like himself to install barb and net wire fences. He loved the Lord, his family, farming and his animals, wearing hats and camo shirts, John Deere tractors, classic rock music, hunting, and fishing. Often, you could find him at 3:00 pm in the pasture among his beautiful cows with his dog Onie by his side.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Johnnie Rogers, his brother, Ronnie Rogers and his sister, Cheryl Rogers. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Maxine Rogers, his two children, Sethe Rogers (Torrie) of Forkville, MS and Drew Rogers (Jackie) of Forkville, MS; his four brothers, Bill Rogers (Bobbie Gaile) of Forkville, MS, Bob Rogers (Sonji) of Brandon, MS, Mickey Rogers of Pulaski, MS, and Tim Rogers (Robin) of Brandon, MS; and his grandson, Tucker Lane Rogers, who will turn one on Rusty's birthday.
