Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Sanders, age 76, passed away on Saturday January 13, 2018 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation was held on Sunday January 14, 2018 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Monday January 15, 2018 from 8:30PM until 9:50AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services were held on Monday January 15, 2018 at 10:00AM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS with Bro. David Bryant and Bro. Joey Griffin officiating. Burial followed in the Morton Memorial Gardens. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Sanders was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS where she was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God. She was the owner of Dot’s Gulf Café in Morton for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sanders in 1984; her parents, Oscar and Eliza Purvis; brother, Mack Purvis; sister, Winnie Thornton; step-granddaughter, Hailey Smith; and her step-daughter, Wanda Sanders. She is survived by her companion of thirty years, Wayne Morrow of Morton, MS; one daughter, Tanya Westerfield (David Cumberland) of Morton, MS; one brother, Jerry Purvis (Omega) of Morton, MS; three grandchildren, Breanna Westerfield, Lauren Grace Westerfield, and Braylin Ray Cumberland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Ricky Purvis, Addison Newell, Mark Thornton, Johnny Thornton, and Zach Boykin. Honorary Pallbearers were John Craven and Henry Holmes.
