Sebastian (Bubba) Lee Pope

Sebastian Lee “Bubba” Pope, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Lena, MS. His Services will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 12:30 PM until 2:15 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. His Services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 PM. Bro. Rick Hammarstrom and Bill MacNeill will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. 

Bubba was born to Robert Lee Pope and Ethel Iola Shoemaker Pope on April 9, 1959, in Jackson, MS and spent most of his life in Ackerman, MS. He attended Weir Presbyterian Church in Weir, MS. Bubba graduated high school and worked to put himself through college at MSU to earn his Bachelor's degree in forestry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball and gardening. Bubba loved music and he played the drums. He was known to put everyone else above himself. You will notice the date listed in this obituary were the dates the Lord brought him into this world and the date the Lord took him home. Bubba Loved God, family and friends, the date didn’t matter, and he lived in the dash.

Bubba was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Pope; his sister, Phyllis Denson; his nephew, Jeremy Denson and his brother-in-law, James Ellis Mason. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Twyla Pope of Ackerman, MS; his mother, Iola Pope, his two children, Cheyenne Pope Boone (Jason) of Lena, MS and James Lee Pope of Columbus, MS; his sister, GiGi Pope of Lena, MS; his brother, Chris Pope of Lena, MS; his four grandchildren, Aubrie Jayde Smith, Charlee Elizabeth Smith, Alyse Danielle Boone and Gabriel Boone and his two great-grandchildren, Jaxyn Boone and Kysen Boone.
