Katie M. Shelley, 91, a resident of Forest, MS passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton, MS. A visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 6:30 until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 1:00 until 2:15 pm. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial following in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Robert Gardner, and Dr. Leon Everett. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shelley was a lifelong resident of the Piketon Community, and she was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Forest, MS. She retired as a cashier of the TG&Y store.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Shelley in 1985. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Darrell Gardner and husband Bro. R. B. of Forest, MS,; Saralan Brown and husband Charles of Conehatta, MS; Ruby Fortenberry and husband Van of Forest, MS; two sons, James W. Shelley and wife Betty of Conehatta, MS; Thomas Matthew Shelley and wife Marsha of Forest, MS; fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be James Shelley, II, John Gardner, Tony Fortenberry, Chuck Brown, Amon Shelley and Mason Shelley.
