Juanita Sanders Simmons, 89, a resident of Morton, MS passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at her residence. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS on Tuesday from 8:00 until 10:00 am and a graveside service was held at 10:30 am at the Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS.
Officiating was Rev. Bobo Phillipson and Rev. Matt Armstrong. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Simmons had lived in Morton, MS since 1998, moving from Forest, MS and she was a member of Forest Baptist Church in Forest, MS.
Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Ewart Simmons in 1995. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Simmons Dayton and husband Glenn of Bostick, NC; Lana Simmons Gordon and husband Butch of Morton, MS; two sisters, Verdie Simmons of Forest, MS; Maudell Lee of Purvis, MS; three grandchildren, Gent Simmons and wife Jennifer, Stacie Phillipson and husband Bobo, Kyle Gordon; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ellana Simmons; Brady, Logan and Chance Phillipson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Butch Gordon, Glenn Dayton, Gent Simmons, Kyle Gordon, Bobo Phillipson and Matt Armstrong.
