Mr. Roscoe William Simons, age 100, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at University Mississippi Medical Center Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 9:50 AM at Wolf Funeral Services. Services will follow 10:00 AM at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Baron Price under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Sims Cemetery in Morton, MS.
Msgt. (USAF, retired) Roscoe William Simons was born in Logan, West Virginia, on November 6, 1921. Parents were Effie and Isaac Simons. Roscoe had two brothers and a sister along with a half brother. They were: Clifford Simons, Joseph Simons, Della Mae Simons and Douglas Pauley. Roscoe lived through the Great Depression and was sometimes separated from his family due to the economic conditions at the time. Roscoe joined the Army during WWII and received the Bronze Star for bravery. He saw combat in China and Burma. When the war was over, he joined the newly formed UASF and continued his military career until he retired in 1964. After retirement, Roscoe moved to Morton, MS in order to be closer to his wife’s family and has lived there since then. Roscoe was married to Clemmie Beatrice Chestnut Simons and they had three children: Ronald William (Faye), Marena Ann (Bobby) and Darrell Lee. After Clemmie passed, Roscoe remarried and is survived by Brenda G. Simons and there adopted children, Dontavous and Jordan Clark, Dixie and Noah Simons. In addition to his wife and Children, He is survived by his grandchildren and great Grandchildren. Roscoe had just recently celebrated his 100th birthday.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Gray, Jason Gray, Luke Smith, Sal LaBue, Kenny LaBue, and Jody Griffin.
