Rosie Mary Sistrunk Phillips, 73, a resident of Forest passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton, MS. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 10:00 am until 1:45 pm. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the chapel with burial following in the Salem Baptist Cemetery. Officiating was Bro. Clifford Wood and Bro. Aaron Wood. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rosie Mary had lived in Forest, MS for most of her life, and was a member of the Conehatta Jesus Name Church in Conehatta, MS. She loved to play the guitar and sing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Oma Perkins; first husband, William Sistrunk; one daughter, Judy Sistrunk, four brothers, Huey Gene Perkins, Luther Perkins, W.O. Perkins, and James Perkins; one sister, Myrtle Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Phillips of Forest, MS; three daughters, Jo Ann Sistrunk, Betty Renfroe, and Tammy Massey all of Forest, MS; one sister, Joyce Faye Shuler of Forest, MS; two brothers, David Perkins of Magee, MS; Earl Perkins of Lake, MS; four grandchildren, Jessica Massey, John McGee, Heather Hardy, and Nicole Massey; four great-grandchildren, Haleigh Massey, Hannah Elizabeth Massey, John Carlos McGee, and Emma Renee’ Hardy; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Billy Perkins, Gary Brown, Ricky Sistrunk, Johnny Ray Sistrunk, Joey Massey, and Daniel Hill. Honorary Pallbearers were, Mark Sistrunk, R.C. Phillips, and Joey Hardy.
