Dorothy Smith, age 61, a resident of Polkville, MS passed away Thursday May 7, 2015 at her home. Visitation will be held on Friday May 8, 2015 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM and again Saturday May 9, 2015 from 12 noon until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Concord Baptist Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Officating will be Bro. Ray Ingram. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Dorothy had lived in Polkville, MS for the past 13 years, formerly living in Morton, MS. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Talbert; one brother, Douglas Talbert. She is survived by her husband, Garth A. Smith of Polkville, MS; three sons, James Shannon Jerkins and wife Tammy of Gulfport, MS, Ricky Joe Shoemaker of Pearl, MS, Sammy Earl Shoemaker of Polkville, MS; five sisters, Rose Herrod and husband Richard of Morton, MS, Paula Stinson and husband Tony of Morton, MS, Shirley Belinda Boles and husband Ralph of Houston, TX, Nona Taylor and husband Ricky of Stanton, TN, Judy Faye Shaw and husband Ray of Lena, MS; four brothers, William Talbert and wife Betty of Florence, MS, Albert Talbert and wife Kathie of Bismark, AR, Pellom Talbert and wife Wanda of Brandon, MS, Kenneth Ray Franklin, Jr. and wife Angie of Forest, MS; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers are William Smith, Steve Smith, George Whitfield, Tony Stinson, Ralph Boles, Richard Herrod.
