Bennie J. Stevens, Sr., 64, of Forest, MS went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Merit Health Central, Jackson, MS. He was born on May 17, 1957, to Algie Dock Stevens and Bonnie Opal McGee. Graveside services will be at Harperville Cemetery on, Sunday, August 22, 2021, with a short visitation starting at 1:30PM lasting till 1:55PM. Bro Joe Crane will be officiating under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Bennie spent most of his life in Scott County except for a few years in Puckett, MS. He loved fishing, gardening, and working on small engines. His favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents Algie and Bonnie Stevens and brother, Frank Stevens. He is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Janet Rutledge Stevens of Forest, MS; two sons Albert Stevens of Pelahatchie, MS, Bennie Joe Stevens, Jr., of Harperville, MS; two daughters, Jennifer Clingan of Harperville, MS, Kimberly Hughes of Morton, MS; two step-daughters, Becky Wicker of Pulaski, MS, April Hart, of Morton, MS; three step-sons, C. J. Massey of Dowington, PA, Jesse Hart, Jr., of Morton, MS, Ronald Hart of Morton, MS; five sisters, Bonnie Keen of Union, MS, Lora Higginbotham of Lena, MS, Pam Smith of Walnut Grove, MS, Judy Stevens of Mendenhall, MS Tammie Steward of Morton, MS; two brothers, Wayne Stevens of Pelahatchie, MS, Carl Stevens of Richland, MS; 23 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be C.J. Massey, Chris Wicker, Robert Watkins, Anthony Rinehart, Randy Rutledge, and Jamie Moore.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Watkins, Jr., William Simpson, Jeffery Loper, and Kim Abernathy.
