Huey G. Stone, 73, a resident of Lake, MS passed away on Saturday, June 01, 2013 at his residence. Visitation will be held at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 9:00 until 9:50 am. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the chapel at 10:00 am with burial following in the Clifton Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Ken McLemore. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stone had lived in Lake, MS since 1961, moving from Clifton, MS and he was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake, MS. He served as Principal at Lake High School for 32 years, retiring in 1999. He loved gardening and working in his yard and loved spending time with his family. He graduated high school from Harperville High School and spent two years at East Central Community College, then received his Bachelors Degree at USM, Masters of Education from MSU, Masters of Guidance from MSU and Masters of History from MSU.
He was preceded in death by his father, Garvin Stone. He is survived by wife, Yvonne Stone of Lake, MS; mother, Mildred Stone of Forest, MS; one son, Michael Stone and wife Ann of Lake, MS; one sister, Johnnie DeBoxtel of Forest, MS; seven grandchildren, Amber Cooksey, Donovan Cooksey, Brody Cooksey, Billie Colbert, Allison Colbert, Katherine Colbert, Kirkland Colbert and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Granville Freeman, Randy Martin, Larry Townsend, Lance Sanders, Bingham Moncrief, and Bill Ingersoll. Honorary pallbearers will be James Johnston, James Wade, Travis Martin, Larry Judge, Donovan Cooksey.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lake Building Fund.
