Mr. Michael Gray Stone age 52 a resident of Lake, MS. passed away Tuesday September 30, 2014 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on October 2, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Burial will follow in the Clifton Baptist Cemetery in Forest, MS. Officiating will be Rev. Ken McLemore, Rev. Jerry Lewis and Rev. Jerry Mixon.
Mr. Stone was a lifelong resident of Lake, MS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake, MS. Michael was a 1980 graduate of Lake High School and after school he worked at Aultman’s IGA in Goodhope, MS. for many years and later owned M & K Convenience Store in Lake, MS. He served as Fire Chief at Lake Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years, having just recently retired. He loved helping people and spending time with his family. He was an avid supporter of the Lake School System. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing and golfing.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Huey Gray Stone in 2013; grandparents, Garvin & Mildred Stone and Cliff & Edith Mae Allen. He is survived by his wife, Ann Stone of Lake, MS.; mother, Yvonne Stone of Lake, MS.; one daughter, Amber Cooksey and husband Donovan of Lake, MS.; four step children, Billie Joyce Colbert, Allison Colbert, Katherine Colbert and Kirkland Colbert all of Lake, MS.; one grandchild, Brody James Cooksey; one aunt, Jonnie Deboxtel; and a number of cousins and other relatives.
Pallbearers are Jesssie Parker, Wayne Cooksey, Billy Ingersoll, Randy Martin, Larry Townsend, Roy Aultman, Eddie Nester and George Marler. Honorary pallbearers are Judge Bill Freeman and the members of the Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
