Pastor Ruth Thompson

Pastor Ruth Thompson, 58, left this life and arrived into Heaven on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Forest, MS. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 11:00am until 12:50pm at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00pm in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery in Forest, MS. Pastor Jennifer Biard will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Pastor Ruth was born on March 1, 1965, to Merel Gene Thornton and Betty Jean Ledbetter Thornton in Turlock, CA. She has lived in the Forest area since 1995. Pastor Ruth devoted her life to service. She loved to do arts and crafts and was a natural musician, she played many instruments and sang beautifully. Pastor Ruth never met a stranger and many folks across the country were blessed to have crossed paths with her. To know Pastor Ruth was to love her and to see her was to see Christ.
Pastor Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Craig Thompson and her father, Merel Thornton. She is survived by her children, Jacob (Melodie) Thompson of Mariposa, CA and Beth Thompson of Forest, MS; mother, Betty Jean Thornton; bonus daughter, Brittany (Israel) Reynoso of Forest MS; brother, Tim Thornton of Mariposa, CA; grandchildren, Ellie and Abby Thompson; bonus grandchildren, Mya and Myles Nelson and Macy Reynoso.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Thompson, Tim Thornton, Myles Reynoso, Israel Reynoso, Mya Reynoso, Larry Robinson, Kyle McCormick and Doug Clanton.
