Beverly Jo Thornton

Mrs. Beverly Jo Thornton, 64, of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home. Visitation for Mrs. Beverly will be Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 3:20 pm at Pine Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Lake, MS, with the graveside service following at 3:20. Rev. Lin Chesney will officiate. The services are reserved for immediate family due to Covid-19. Per MSDH guidelines, masks must be worn and please observe social distancing.
Beverly was born December 29, 1956 in Newton, MS to the late William Clifton Thornton and Inez Dearing Thornton. She was of Baptist faith and was a member at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Lake, MS. Beverly was so full of joy and life, loved photography and she loved Jesus. There was never a dull moment when she was present. She retired as a neurology nurse at UMMC where she had dedicated her life to helping others for 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Beverly is preceded in death by her nephew Jim Pace. Her survivors include siblings; Daphne McMillian (Raymond), Cliff Thornton, Melanie Wolfe (Shane), Felicia Blackburn (Tim), Andy Thornton (Teresa) along with a number of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers are Ryan McMillian, Andy McMillian, Neil Thornton, Curt Blackburn, Lee Blackburn and Melvin Lopez.
