Mrs. Leona Lenora Brown Thornton, age 73, passed away on Saturday August 19, 2017 at the Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Monday August 21, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 11:00AM until 1:50PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake, MS with burial following in the New Prospect Baptist Cemetery in Sebastopol, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Billy Nichols and Bro. Scott Thomas with David Mabry delivering the Eulogy. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Thornton had lived in Lake, MS for the past nineteen years where she moved from Sebastopol, MS. She was a member of the Lake Christian Church and the 4-County Benefit Club in Sebastopol, MS.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Earl Brown in 1989 and her second husband, Paul Thornton in 2015. She is survived by her son, Gilbert Brown (Patricia) of Lake, MS; four sisters, Fay Wolverton of Philadelphia, MS, Linda Gully of Dekalb, MS, Janie Nowell of Philadelphia, MS, and Diane Clark of Union, MS; three brothers, Cecil Ray Agent of Kosciusko, MS, Rudolph Agent of Madison, MS, and Doyle Agent of Philadelphia, MS; two grandchildren, Adam Brown and Amanda Brown; one great grandchild, Mari Patton Brown; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Brad Gressett, Greg Nowell, Johnny Agent, Jason French, Jim Wolverton, and Gary Hare. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gerald Shephard, Cary Brown, Ronnie Germany, and James Rucker.
