Paul Fulton Thornton, age 80, passed away on Friday November 20, 2015 at his residence. Visitation was held on Sunday November 22, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Monday November 23, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Funeral Services were held on Monday November 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Lake, MS. Officiating was Rev. Billy Nichols, Rev. Haschel Rhodes and Rev. Roger York. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Paul had lived in Lake, MS since 1999, moving from Sebastopol, MS. He was a member of the Lake Christian Church in Lake, MS. He worked for Nolen Sistrunk Trucking for a number of years and was a truck driver for over fifty years.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Henton and Virginia Thornton; two brothers, Curtis and Milton Thornton; two sisters, Virginia Hand and Charlotte Schielfer; his first wife, Mae Thornton. He is survived by his wife, Leona Lenora Thornton of Lake, MS; four step-children, Gilbert Brown of Lake, MS, Ronnie Fergurson of Newton, MS, Patsy Gilbert of Shubuta, MS, and Beverly Gibson of Brandon, MS; one sister, Mildred McKay of Pelahatchie, MS; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Adam Brown, Ronnie Germany, Joey Hand, Sammy Hand, Brad Gressett and Warren McKay. Honorary Pallbearers are David Mabry and James Rooker.
