Garland Lee Usry, Sr.

Garland Lee Usry, Sr., age 72, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his residence in Decatur, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 12:00 PM until 12:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Services will take place at 1:00 PM in our Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Antioch-Steele Cemetery in Forest, MS. Bro. Chris Spence will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Garland was born to Holder Columbus Usry and Ruth Virginia Lanthrip Usry on December 22, 1950, in Scott County, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Forest, MS. Garland loved playing the guitar and singing. It was always said that “He was the best transmission repairman around.”
Garland was preceded in death by his parents, Holder “Lit” and Ruth Usry; two brothers, Roger and Carlton Usry; two great grandchildren, Zane and Elijah Usry. He is Survived by his daughter, Lisa Jay of Forest, MS; son, Garland Lee Usry, Jr. of Forest, MS; two sisters, Loretta Mart of Brandon, MS and Glenda Childs of Pineville, MS; two brothers Lathern Usry of Carthage, MS and Kenneth Usry of Little Rock, MS; four grandchildren, Brooks Gibbs, Madison Jay, Jason Usry and Amy Coley; four great grandchildren, Waylon Usry, Champ Usry, Nic Coley and A. J. Coley.
Pallbearers will be Toney Usry, David Usry, Roy Usry, Anthony Usry, Joey Childs and Cully Smith.
Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Blake.
