Wanda “Diane” Puckett, 72, of 135 East 7th Ave., Morton, MS, passed away peacefully after a

prolonged illness on September 9, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Born on October 3,

1951, in Jackson, MS, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late Percy Jewel Puckett and

nursing, a career she passionately dedicated herself to for many years. Throughout her life, she

served her community with compassion, working as a Registered Nurse in nursing homes,

Puckett, Sr.; and her nephew, Benjamin “Jake” Puckett, whom she helped raise.

Diane’s legacy lives on through her survivors, including her niece and nephew she lovingly

raised, Amber Diane Wood and Rodger O’Neil Puckett, Jr. She is also survived by her brother,

Joel Andrew Puckett (Linda); her sister, Paula Sue Latham (Ricky, deceased); along with many

nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who were blessed by her nurturing spirit.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on September 18, 2024, at New Good Hope Baptist Church in

Pulaski, MS, followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Daniel Herring.

Diane will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with

her grace and generosity.
