Louise Watkins, 76, a resident of Morton passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Lackey Memorial Hospital, Forest, MS. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm and the funeral services were on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Evans Tabernacle Church, Union, MS with burial following in the Evans Tabernacle Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Ray Wilkerson and Rev. Johnny Wilkerson. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Watkins had lived in Morton since 1987 moving from Meridian, MS and she was of the Holiness faith. She had retired as an office manager with Magnolia Doors in Meridian, MS. She loved her flowers and collected old bottles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Mable Raynes; one sister, Doris Mosby; one brother, Charles Raynes; and one son, James Burke.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Watkins of Morton; one daughter, Leetha Sampley of Morton; three sons, Jeffrey Watkins, Morton; John "Jay" Burke, Quitman; Michael Burke, Huntsville, AL; three step-daughters, Marie Watkins, Debra Ann Watkins, and Dorothy Faye Watkins all of Douglas, GA; two step-sons, Michael Watkins and Robert Watkins both of Douglas, GA; one sister, Jane Hughes, Bessemer, AL; one brother, James Raynes, Birmingham, AL; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; twenty step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Randy Johnson, Steve Bingham, John "Jay" Burke, Chris Kyzar, Randall Goss, and Mike Burke.
