Alex Watts, 29, a resident of Morton passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 due to an auto accident on Hwy 13 S., Morton, MS. Visitation was held Monday, May 9, 2011 at Wolf Funeral Services from 5:30 until 9:00 pm and funeral services were May 10, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Springfield Baptist Church with burial following in the Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. Tal Vardaman and Rev. Bob Smith. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Alex was a lifelong resident of Morton and a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan, especially Ole Miss. He was working as a heavy equipment mechanic with B&C Equipment in Florence, MS at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Prentiss and Etta Rene Cooper; and Rev. James and Winnie Watts.
He is survived by his parents, David and Shelia Watts of Morton; one brother Jeremy Watts of Morton; aunt, Sadie Cooper of Morton, uncle and aunt, Don and Estelle Watts of Pearl; cousins, Josh and Amy Martin, and Eric and Heather Watts.
Pallbearers were Joey Scales, Kenny Stevens, Dustin Westbrook, Ashley Traxler, Justin Earls, and Heath Dye. Honorary Pallbearers were Josh Baugh, Larry Frith, and Terry Pinter.
