Wesley Coley

Wesley Coley, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his residence in Morton, MS. His Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. His services will take place in our Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. His burial will follow at Morton Memorial Gardens in Morton, MS. Bro. Aaron Woods and Bro. Jack Stewart will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services. 

Wesley was born to TC “Chet” Coley and Maggie Mae Montgomery on August 9, 1941, in Smith County, MS. He loved his precious wife, Hazel and when she passed away it took his heart from him. Wesley enjoyed his family gatherings with his children and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and was always telling jokes and cut up with everyone, and met and made many friends throughout his life. He loved his Lord and loved going to church. Wesley never needed a map he could take you anywhere in Mississippi. 

 He endured a lot of physical hardships and health issues but he never complained and always had an uplifting spirit. Wesley enjoyed going to French’s Pharmacy to see his favorite ladies, Rhonda, Elaine, Cheryl, Shelia, and Rita.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Maggie Coley, his wife, Hazel Coley; his son, Terry Coley; his sisters, Mary Mot Hill and Erma Lee Russell; his brothers, Lorenzo, L. C., Joe, Charlie, and M. L. Coley. He is survived by his three children, Diane Thompson (Ronnie Joe) of Pelahatchie, MS, Tim Coley (Irene) of Morton, MS, and Roger Coley (Vanessa) of Morton, MS; his eight grandchildren, Joseph Thompson (Diana), Lance Thompson, Allen Coley (Lindsay), Kristy Atkinson (Sam), Ashley Gatewood (Eric), Angel Coley, Casey Coley and Ariel Allen; and twelve great-grandchildren and his twin brother, Chesley Coley and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be Joseph Thompson, Lance Thompson, Allen Coley, Eric Gatewood, Sam Atkinson, Bryson Gatewood and Ryder Coley.
