Evelyn “Elva” Whipple, 85, a resident of Forest passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, MS. Visitation was at Wolf Funeral Services on Sunday, January 02, 2011 from 4:30 until 6:00 PM and on Monday, January 03, 2011 from 8:00 AM until 1:45 PM and the services were at 2:00 PM in the chapel with burial following in the Salem Baptist Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. James McMillan. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Whipple had lived in Forest for most of her life moving from Florida where she lived for 20 years and she was of the Baptist faith. She attended various churches throughout the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Whipple in 1987, and her son, James Williamson in 2010.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Debbie Harvey, Lake; and Michael Williamson, Richland; two great grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Lake; and Khane Williamson, Richland; two sisters, Ruby Sorey, Pineville; and Beadie Baker, Coleman, TX; and a number of nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers were Berrick Blackwell, Jimmy Myers, Billy Myers, Joe Neal Myers, Jeff Myers and Red Waltman. (www.wolffuneralservices.com)
