Neva Lee Wilkerson, 78, a resident of Forest passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Choctaw Health Center, Philadelphia, MS. Visitation was held at Wolf Funeral Services on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 5:30 until 8:00 and again on Monday, April18, 2011 from 8:00 until 9:45 am. Funeral services were held on Monday in the chapel at 10:00 am with burial following in the Antioch-Steele Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Ted Hawkins and Brother George Gardner. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a lifelong resident of Forest, MS and was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and she loved to fish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quitman Wilkerson; two sons, Terry and Defay Wilkerson; one daughter, Carmen Wilkerson; one brother, Marvin Goss and one sister, Lorean Culpepper.
She is survived by her children, David Wilkerson and wife Sherry of Forest; Betty Muirhead and husband Nick of Forest; Dell Reeves of Morton; Donald Wilkerson of Forest; Diane Wiggins and husband E.L. of Forest; Jamie Wilkerson of Forest; Jimmy Wilkerson of Forest; two sisters, Nell Goolsby of Forest; Loretta Wade of Auburn, CA; 15 grand-children; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Michael Dearman, D. J. Martin, Tre’ Martin, Matthew Wilkerson, Eddie Dearman, Brooks Gibbs, Tyler Rigby, Mark Shoemaker, C.J. Jones, Donald Wilkerson, Jr., and Dewayne Wilkerson.
