Mr. I.E. “Sarge” Wilkinson died peacefully at the age of 93 at Baptist Hospital in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was a devoted family man, community member, businessman and faithfull United States Marine for 30 years. He was a member of Forest United Methodist Church since 1967.
Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his daughter Mary Neil Wilkinson (Ronny) Jones of Forest, Mississippi. Survivors also include grandchildren: Kristin Jones (Ken) Tew, Ronda Jones (Jason) Henderson, Amy Jones (Chris) Comans, and Ashley Jones (Stephen) Burks; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Corban and Joshua Tew, Madeline and Katie Ann Henderson, and Luke and Jonathon Burks; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by: His Beloved wife, Mary Singletary “Bygone” Wilkinson, Son, I.E. “Butch” Wilkinson, Jr., parents, Emmett Joshua and Norma Wilkinson, Sister, Waudelle Wichman, and Brothers, Elmer, Mac, Clifford and Henry Wilkinson.
Celebration of Military Service and Life will be held on Monday, October, 26 at 10:00am at Forest United Methodist Church with visitation Sunday, October 25 from 6-8pm at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS and Monday, October 26 at 8:30am at Forest United Methodist Church. Burial with full Military honors will follow at Lakewood Memorial park cemetery in Clinton, MS at 2:00PM. Reverends Ken Tew, Stephen Burks, Trey Harper and Mike Sahler will be officiating the services. Pallbearers are: Chris Comans, Jason Henderson, Jack Averitt, Rip Walker, Tim Smith, Rodney Jones, Honorable Judge H. David Clark and Eddie Clark. Honorary Pall Bears Are: American Legion Post 9 and Auxilliary, MS State American Legion Members, and Scott County VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Forest United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Forest, MS 39074, or the American Legion Post 9, P.O. Box 75, Forest, MS 39074.
