Mrs. Gladys Warren Williams, 94, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton. A Graveside Service is set for Monday, January 25, 2021 at 12:00 Noon at Ephesus Baptist Cemetery in Forest, MS. Per the family’s request and MSDH guidelines, masks are to be worn and social distancing is requested. Please reserve the area under the tent for immediate family; friends and extended family are asked to show your respect from a distance. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Mississippi Baptist Children’s Home.
Mrs. Williams was born in Scott County, MS on February 14, 1926 to the late Eloise Ellis and Jessie F. Warren. She moved to Laurel after her marriage and raised her family there. They moved back to Scott County after retirement. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Forest. Gladys was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion and the quilting club at Ephesus Baptist Church. She loved her quilting and really enjoyed playing Solitaire. Gladys deeply loved her family and considered them to be her pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Thomas Williams; sisters, Jessie Marion Brown and Irene Yarbrough; brothers, Glen Warren and Ellis Warren. She is survived by her children, Danny Thomas Williams (Peggy) and Wanda McGee both of Forest; sister Janice Brown (CW) of Lucedale; grandchildren, Chad Williams (Kerby), Tommy Williams (Kim), John Williams (Jennifer) and Katie McGee; great grandchildren, Emily Williams, Easten Williams, Ella Williams, Wyatt Williams and Jackson McGee.
