Willie Ray Lloyd, was born on March 20, 1950, to the union of Willie Lee and
Lucille Lloyd in Morton, Mississippi. He was raised with a big loving family in a God
loving home.
He attended Morton public school system and received his high school diploma from
Betty Mae Jack High School.
Ray decided to move to Detroit, MI to pursue more opportunities, and to join his sister
Ella Mae. While in Detroit, he met his lifelong wife Patricia Lloyd who was babysitting his
niece and nephew. Through this union of love, they were blessed with 54 years of
marriage.
Throughout his life Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his favorite numbers,
gardening, and spending time with his loved ones. He also enjoyed spending time
teaching others how to hunt and fish. Ray started his career at Chrysler as a lineman
and spent 33 years there ending his career as the chief union steward.
On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Ray was called home by the Lord on the Lord’s Day.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Willie Lee and Lucille Lloyd, his son Patrick
Lloyd, his siblings Ella Mae Shepard, Carl Lee Lloyd (Jackie Lloyd), Otis Lee Lloyd
(Mary Lloyd), W.C. Lloyd (Ida Mae Lloyd), and Clarudine Younger (Johnny Younger)
preceded in death.
Ray leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife Patricia Lloyd, his
Children, Ray White, Kent (Keonna) White, Dywan “Rayshone” Lloyd, Eric Lloyd and
Krystal “Mika” Lloyd. His siblings, Dessie Sturkin (William preceded in death),
Clemmie Teen (Eugene) Gary, Jerry (Maggie) Lloyd, Patricia (David) Turner, and Larry
(Tasona) Lloyd.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and
nephews.
