Mr. Billy Wooten age 35, passed away on Thursday September 3, 2020 at his residence in Lake, MS. A visitation will be held on Sunday September 6, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Lake, MS from 12:00 PM until 1:50 PM. A funeral service will follow with Brother Jess Dilley and Brother Larry Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Lake City Cemetery in Lake, MS.
Mr. Wooten had lived in Lake, MS since 1992 after moving from Miami, FL. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Lake, MS. Billy was presently attending First Baptist Church in Lake, MS. He was a 2003 graduate of Lake High School where he lettered in football and baseball and graduated with honors. He joined the National Guard in his junior year of high school. He was an FFA member. He was an ATV enthusiast and loved boating and loved coaching his daughter’s softball team. He was a hard working family man who loved his family. Billy worked in the oilfield industry from 2003 – 2018. He was presently the owner of W & W Trucking in Lake, MS.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Wilson Wooten.
He is survived by his wife, Lauren Wooten of Lake, MS; his daughters, Harbor Wooten of Lake, MS, Hayven Wooten of Lake, MS, Hallie Rustyn Wooten of Lake, MS; his parents, Bill and Cindy Wooten of Lake, MS; sisters, Courtney Rushing (Ben) of Olive Branch, MS; Cherith Wooten of Nashville, TN; maternal grandmother, Claire DiStrito of Ocala, FL; paternal grandmother, Sherrie Wooten of Lake, MS and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are David Boxx, Richard Wilkerson, Josh McCann, Daniel Kelly, Jeffrey Wilson and Aden Wansley.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ashley Creel, David Parker, Jeff Parks, Stephen Myers and Michael Goss.
